When native New Yorkers think of home, a few things come to mind; the traffic, the people and the authentic food.

Leaving New York means leaving behind the bagel shops that have become a cornerstone of the city. However, for those feeling homesick, look no further than to Boca’s own Bagel Wit A Schmear.

Located at 4251 N. Federal Highway, Bagel Wit a Schmear opened in 2010 and is a hidden gem here in the area. Although it is quaint and unassuming from the outside, those who step inside of the deli-style bagel joint, soon comes to find that the food is the opposite of that.

“There are so many different flavors of bagels,” said Bridget Lord, senior. “It reminds me of New Jersey.”

The service is also impressive. Upon entering, the friendly staff is always ready to greet their guests with a welcoming smile, taking their dining experience to the next level.

“When I was there for the first time about 10 bikers walked in and the owners knew everyone of them by name,” said Mady Fryburg, senior. “They really get to know the people in the community.”

Aside from their renowned bagels, they also serve muffins, lunch sandwiches, homemade salads and more for customers to choose from. Yet no matter what is chosen from the menu, customers will be impressed with the quality of food.

“The owner cooks his own bagels,” said Steph Leighty, senior. “They’re so soft and chewy [Bagel Wit A Schmear]. [It is] my favorite breakfast place for sure.”

For those looking for a small, high quality and customer friendly place to go to that is a snack bagel establishment, look no further than to Bagel Wit A Schmear. It brings the true taste of New York to the Boca community.
