A Glimpse into Lynn’s Educational Journey

In the age of virtual college tours and online information sessions, there is something special about stepping onto a campus and experiencing the vibrancy of a university’s community in person.

On Friday, Oct. 7, Lynn University opened its doors to prospective students and their families for their first in-person event of the academic year, Preview Day. The event offered a unique opportunity for aspiring students to take a step beyond brochures and websites, and instead immerse themselves into Lynn’s campus life.

“This event is extremely helpful for students on their college search,” said Javiera Sarmiento, a student ambassador at Lynn. “It gives them an opportunity that not many colleges have by allowing them not only to take a tour of the university, but to meet their prospective classmates as well as to become friendly with the faculty and staff.”

Having accessibility to Lynn faculty and staff is a key feature of the event. Prospective students have the opportunity to engage with professors, advisors and other staff members as well as current students. This provides valuable insight into the university’s community, academic programs and available resources.

“Preview Day is a great opportunity for prospective students and their families to come to Lynn and learn about our academic programs,” said Lauren Campbell, a campus visit coordinator. “During their tour, they also get to meet with admission counselors financial aid counselors and learn what it is all about.”

“All of our student admission ambassadors help out with this event — it’s all hands-on deck and they do a lot of preparation with us, too, whether that be with materials or knowing where we’re going to go for each academic session,” said Angeni Worley, senior campus visit specialist.

Preview Day is not just a glimpse into the educational journey at Lynn, but an invitation to be a part of it, offering prospective students a chance to involve themselves on campus before enrolling.

For students interested in the university, Preview Day is the first step toward a remarkable and memorable academic adventure.
