The swim team this year had a great season and broke many school records, with a good portion of Lynn swimmers making it to the NCAA swim nationals.

This season saw the swim team finish fifth in their conference, with nine swimmers on the Lynn team making it to Nationals.

“I think overall this season was good for the team, we’ve been getting better every year, and nationals was a good experience,” said Laura Dekoninck, Lynn swimmer who participated in nationals.

Laura finished top five and ten in her events which were the 1500 free stroke, 100 backstroke and 50 backstroke relays throughout the season.

Lynn’s opponents at the nationals were tough and formidable teams like Florida Tech, Nova Southeastern Tampa and other high-level Division II colleges.

“I had no idea I was even going to nationals going into the season, I improved a lot since the beginning of the year,” said Lexi Lundell, another Lynn swimmer who participated at nationals.

Lundell’s events at the relay were the 4 x 100 freestyle relay, the 2 x 50 freestyle relay, 4 x 50 medley, 4 x 100 medley and 3 out of 4 podium. Lundell’s team for the relays finished sixth place and in one of the relays her group and her received first place for the 200-medley relay.

“Overall, this year we performed way better with the team growing and connecting with one another,” said Maurice Grabowski, national swimmer participant for Lynn.

The events he participated in were the 100 freestyles, 100 backstroke, and the 50 freestyle relay.

It was a great season for the team and the swimmers who competed in Nationals for the Lynn swim team this year, with athletes showing consistent levels of improvements across the board.
