Priscilla Stalker, a Lynn junior studying international business, grew up in five different countries, resulting in never having a country to call her own. But now, she finally feels at home.

Stalker was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where she lived her first six years. After, she moved to Switzerland, Argentina, Denmark and now the United States for college. Now, she speaks four languages: French, Spanish, Portuguese and English.

Stalker grew up having to accept change since she lived in such culturally different countries. She attended international schools, allowing her to be surrounded by people with the common ground of living in various nations.

“I never got to stick in one country,” said Stalker. “I did not have a country to call home. I never really got to keep long friendships.”

Stalker was sad about having to end friendships, but she appreciates the incredible experiences of skiing the Switss Alps and exploring new countries in between moves. She graduated high school in Switzerland and was accepted to Lynn.

“Being at Lynn with a lot of international students makes me feel at home because I grew up attending international schools with kids from different nationalities around me,” said Stalker.

Not long after Stalker’s first year of college, COVID-19 hit. Classes went remote and Stalker naturally adjusted. When in-person classes resumed, Stalker was not fazed by the change.

“Living in so many different places has made me culturally aware and who I am today,” said Stalker. “I can now easily adapt to change.”

Stalker is the happiest she’s ever been and has had the opportunity to meet amazing friends since coming to Lynn. She is heavily involved on campus, building her resume and gaining experience. Stalker is now at peace knowing she can call Lynn her home.
