Adriana Gonzalez and Christian Campos, sophomores at Lynn University studying Computer Animation, embody the institution’s commitment to nurturing creative talents. Inspired by early encouragement from family and a passion for artistic expression, their journey at Lynn has been transformative, highlighting the university’s role as a catalyst for self-discovery and growth.

“What inspired me to be a computer animation major is seeing all the animations and shows made by people I enjoy watching, for example RWBY by Rooster Teeth,” said Campos. “I enjoyed the animation, especially the trailers for the web show.”

Growing up with a love for visual storytelling, Campos found his calling in animation, drawn to its potential for creating immersive worlds and captivating characters.

“I’ve always had a creative mind ever since I was a child,” said Gonzalez. “As I got into drawing, I started getting really good at it and thought I should make this into a career.”

Gonzalez’s passion for drawing, fueled by childhood memories of watching animated films like “The Mask,” drove her to pursue a career in computer animation, where she could bring her artistic visions to life through digital mediums.

“In my junior year of high school, I was looking into animation schools with my mom and we found Lynn,” said Gonzalez. “The block schedule stuck out to me because it made it easier to focus on my work.”

This structured approach to learning allowed Gonzalez to immerse herself fully in her studies, dedicating time and effort to mastering the intricacies of 3D animation and modeling.

“Professor Michael Centkowski showed me that I can do more in animation,” said Campos. “And The Aims Art club for showing me different ways to improve my drawings.”

Campos attributes much of his growth to Professor Centkowski’s mentorship, acknowledging the professor’s dedication in guiding him towards realizing his full potential in animation. Moreover, Campos found inspiration and community in the AIM arts club, where he engaged in collaborative projects and exchanged ideas with fellow artists.

Through mentorship, exploration and a supportive community, Lynn University empowers students like Gonzalez and Campos to embrace their creativity in full. Their journey stands as a testament to Lynn’s dedication to fostering creative excellence and preparing students for successful careers in the dynamic world of animation.
