By Delaney Gould Staff Writer

With graduation around the corner, we recognize the hard work and outstanding athletic abilities of Lynn’s senior athletes through the many awards, accolades and prizes they have earned in their years as Fighting Knights.

Across Lynn’s sports teams, a handful of seniors are preparing to graduate this May. An even smaller number of them have the honor of graduating with various awards under their belts. From SSC Players of the Week to school records, iPulse congratulates all graduating student athletes and commends their hard work.

Known for having a stellar career at Lynn, Luna Mertins has been named a 2023 Academic All-American. Mertins has become the most decorated student-athlete in the history of Lynn Athletics. Similarly, her teammate Shachaf Bachar has been recognized for her performance in the 800 freestyle relay.

“We are so very proud of this team,” says Lynn University via Instagram.

On dry land, the Lynn women’s basketball team has established itself as a force to be reckoned with during the 2022–2023 season. With five graduate students, the team moved into the number five seed in the NCAA South Regional. It was only the second ime in school history that the team made it to the tournament.

“The 2022-2023 season was historic,” says Lynn women’s basketball via Instagram. “Finishing 23-9 and setting a school record for wins.”

On a broader scale, more than 80 student-athletes at Lynn have been named to the SSC Fall Honor Roll, including athletes from volleyball, men’s and women’s soccer and men’s and women’s cross country. More than 20 achieved higher than a 4.0 grade point average.

As these senior and graduate students look ahead to their futures, we stop and recognize their passion, hard work and effort both on and off the field. Congratulations to the Fighting Knights of 2023!
