Three Bingeworthy Shows Lynn Students Love

By Sydney Burke, Social Media Editor

With so many shows readily available on streaming platforms, Lynn University students can binge-watch their favorite shows, which are now more accessible than ever.

Although a lot of streaming services allow students to access thousands of shows, recently, Netflix has been the most popular with students. The streaming service has launched many hit programs in the past few years that students cannot get enough of. Here are some of the most watched and recommended shows by Lynn students.

Outer Banks

It is undeniable that “Outer Banks”has been one of the most popular Netflix shows released in recent years. The show’s first season was streamed for 35.1 million hours as of March 2022, and with the release of the show’s third season, it is only gaining popularity.

The show follows two different groups of teenagers in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. So far, each season has involved a treasure hunt where the main character, John B., and his friends have to solve mysteries and overcome challenges on the way to the treasure. “Outer Banks”has everything most college students love to see on TV: mystery, romance and a bit of drama.

“I’ve been obsessed with the third season recently,” said Brandon Reynard, a sophomore. “I have a house in North Carolina and the show reminds me of all the fun stuff I’d do there with my friends.”

Manifest

Another very successful show on Netflix is “Manifest.” Although its six seasons originally aired on NBC, Netflix added the show to its service in November 2022.

It centers on a group of passengers and the crew of an airplane that went missing for five and a half years. During that time, they were presumed dead until suddenly reappearing. The hit show is perfect for college students who love shows surrounding supernatural events and drama.

“I love how it’s really fast-paced and the plot is always changing,” said Alisa Keating, a senior. “It’s one of those shows where once you start watching, you don’t want to stop because you’re constantly on the edge of your seat.”

Drive to Survive

This docuseries follows Formula 1 racers and the drama on and off the track. The show offers behind-the-scenes footage to Formula 1 fans and follows rivalries within the sport.

“For me, as an avid Formula 1 fan, it’s a bit funny because they take things out of order to create more drama,” said Franco Tuda, a sophomore. “But it’s still very entertaining to watch because you get access to the drivers and teams that you never usually get.”

The show’s fifth season was released on Feb. 24 to give F1 fans a glimpse of racing before the season’s first race on March 5. Therefore, although fans know the basics of what happened in the previous season, the show offers the inside scoop on drama from last season.

If these shows are not up your ally, Netflix has something for everyone. Make sure you do your schoolwork and get some sleep, too. Happy binging to all!
