No Season, No Problem: Lynn’s Volleyball Team Still Works Hard Despite Cancellations

Despite being unable to compete, Lynn’s volleyball team remains positive and motivated to become an even stronger team this spring semester.

While other Lynn teams will be competing this spring season, Lynn’s volleyball team has not been approved to play due to the high-risk nature of spreading COVID-19. Despite the team being unable to compete, the team has been approved to practice under new rules such as wearing masks and not using the locker rooms. The team acknowledges the many struggles that come with being able to compete, but try to remain positive about the situation.

“It’s harder to be motivated when we are unable to compete because we are not working toward anything like a championship,” said Alexis Eaves, women’s volleyball athlete. “We stay motivated by focusing on improving ourselves and can improve by playing against each other since everyone on the team is a great player.”

The players continue to work hard in practice to prepare for next year’s season by playing scrimmages, performing drills, and weightlifting. The team plans on making the most out of this spring semester by using this time to strengthen their skills and teamwork.
