10 Things To Do All While Staying At Home

Social Distancing Tips To Use During This Pandemic

In the United States, only essential companies like hospitals and grocery stores are open while non-essential places like gyms and bars are closed.  For those practicing social distancing at home, this leaves them extremely bored after a while.

Here are ten things you can do without spreading COVID-19.

ONE: CLEAN YOUR HOME

The World Health Organization has advised everyone via Google to wash your hands often, cough into your elbow, and not to touch your face. All that is a waste if your home is still dirty. So turn on some tunes, get your broom, and get to sweeping!

If you’re at home with family have a different member in each room. This way you’ll finish cleaning faster. You can decide who gets what room through a game of rock, paper, scissors. Teamwork makes the dream work!

TWO: YOUTUBE YOUR GYM WORKOUT

If you’re still trying to stay loyal to losing weight no matter how bad this year has been –YouTube is here to help! There are plenty of free workout from home videos you can follow along with. If it’s too fast you can slow down the speed of the video.

If you would like to work out for fun without lifting any kind of weights there are Zumba videos available too. Families who own a gaming station can play Just Dance together and burn calories all while having fun.

THREE: GET AHEAD

Students now have online classes for the rest of the semester. To keep your grades high get ahead of everyone else by doing the assignments no one is thinking about doing yet. While everyone else is stuck under piles of homework you’re chilling.

FOUR: READ A BOOK

Did you have a book by Barnes & Noble that’s been collecting dust since you bought it? Well, there’s no better time to escape from reality than now. Why not? You don’t have anything better to do.

If you’re truly a bookworm you’ve probably read all the books you have so get another one from Amazon Kindle! According to Goodreads American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins is the most popular book published in 2020 so far.

FIVE: STREAM

If you don’t like reading maybe a new TV show is what you’re looking for. Whether it’s on Netflix, Hulu, Disney Plus, or Amazon Prime there’s always something to watch.

Last year the most streamed show on Netflix was Stranger Things. Hulu’s most streamed show was Rick and Morty. Amazon Prime’s most streamed show was The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. While Disney Plus’s most streamed show was The Mandalorian.

SIX: LISTEN TO NEW MUSIC

Looking for a new artist to jam to? Using YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music you can find the perfect new artist that fits the vibe you’re into. Another way to find some new tunes is simply by asking your friends who are they listening to. What do you have to lose?

Just recently The Weeknd released his album After Hours followed by Conan Gray with his album Kid Krow. Give them a try. The Weeknd already has 1,000,000,000 streams on Spotify.

SEVEN: LEARN NEW THINGS

Ever wondered if you had a hidden talent? Now’s the best time to figure that out! YouTube can definitely help with those kinds of things even if it’s so you can entertain others. Try watching some DIY videos to get your creative engines going.

EIGHT: CATCH UP ON SLEEP

All that time spent at school, work, or both can be exhausting. Now that you are home there’s no excuse not to catch on that sleep you deserve. Worry about work when you get back but for now, rest should be your top priority.

NINE: BECOME AN INTERNET SENSATION

Have you ever wanted to go viral? The Musically’s app TikTok is thriving more than ever now that everyone is home coming up with cool dances for their favorite artist songs. You could be the next TikTok star if your video is cool enough.

If your desire is not to go viral but to have fun then there are many challenges to follow on TikTok too. Teach the whole family and do a challenge together. Maybe you’ll get noticed by the original TikToker.

TEN: RECONNECT WITH FAMILY & FRIENDS

For students who went back home from college, it’s time to reconnect with your family and friends. Making sure everyone in your life is okay should put your mind to ease. Being home also allows you to learn all the things your parents have done since you’ve been gone.

Now there are ten things you can start doing now. Stay safe!
