As a sophomore immersed in the study of film production at Lynn University, Hunter Rossi has unearthed profound significance in his role as a production assistant.

Within the dynamic environments of the equipment room and TV studio, Rossi has diligently honed his craft, gaining invaluable hands-on experience along the way. These experiences have not only enriched his understanding but have also paved a definitive pathway toward his burgeoning career aspirations.

“Being a production assistant at Lynn has been a great experience all around,” said Rossi. “Apart from running the TV studio and the equipment rental room, I’ve gotten the chance to aid in and even direct many productions here at Lynn.”

“Having a deep understanding of our equipment has definitely helped me in my field of Film Production,” said Rossi. “Serving as a production assistant has given me knowledge of how to operate advanced cinema cameras and overall taught me how to run a TV studio beyond what is taught in class.”

“The main benefit from working here that I wouldn’t have gotten anywhere else is definitely the personalized attention and individual experience I’ve gotten,” said Rossi. “Lynn’s small family has allowed me to hold such a high position, such as director of the Fashion Show, in only my second year. Anywhere else I would’ve just been a drop in the bucket.”

Ashantee Augustine, a senior, through her role working as a production assistant in her sophomore and junior years at Lynn, not only gained hands-on experience, but also unlocked a world of opportunities beyond the university’s confines.

“I really loved working in the equipment room,” said Augustine. “Through my job, I was able to secure freelance jobs that have benefited me in growing my career.”

Rossi and Augustine’s journey exemplifies the significance of campus jobs, particularly for students pursuing careers in fields like film production. Through the role as a production assistant at Lynn, they unlocked opportunities that propelled them towards their desired career path. As Rossi recommends, campus jobs provide invaluable experiences that align with classroom learning, setting students like him on a trajectory for success.

For students, whether local or international, intrigued by the prospect of leveraging campus employment for professional growth, contacting Lynn University’s Employee Services or exploring the newly launched Workday platform for comprehensive information on student employment opportunities is advisable. Embracing the chance to embark on a transformative journey, much like Rossi and Augustine can unlock the myriad benefits awaiting within Lynn’s vibrant community.
