From Nightclub to Family-Friendly Fun

America’s Backyard in Fort Lauderdale has been famously known for its partying atmosphere, loud music and enormous crowds since 2008. The bar had to adapt to the changes in COVID-19, which made them create a new atmosphere for those to enjoy.

America’s Backyard bar is now a family-friendly and open-air hangout. There is live music to enjoy from tables with your dog alongside.

“We’re opening up our doors at an earlier hour to appeal to a larger audience,” said Jarred John, co-owner.

With the bar now opening at 3 p.m. rather than 9 p.m., the vibe is more of a daytime entertainment and restaurant setting. What used to be the pool bar is now covered with artificial turf with picnic tables.

“You have to evolve with the times in this industry,” said John.

John realized that to keep up with the times, America’s Backyard bar had to change with the times. The bar would have been out of business with the COVID safety regulations. This change also catered to the demographic of those in their mid-30s.

The owners created a new enticing menu in hopes of a new crowd to America’s backyard bar. More craft beers and cocktails, personal pizzas and desserts. There are two dozen varieties of pizza to order.

The fun is just getting started with the soft opening of America’s Backyard bar. John plans to create a second-floor space that serves street tacos and tequila and intends to have “an open-air, live-music food hall to accompany the second floor’s food.”

In compliance with COVID-19 safety regulations, America’s Backyard bar is only serving those with a reservation only at the moment. There is a 90-minute seating limit for every table included in the soft opening phase. Experience the new vibe of America’s Backyard bar; reservations can be made at BackyardFTL.com.
