FROM ADMISSION AMBASSADOR TO EMPLOYEE

Entering the 2018-19 academic year, Lynn alumnus Kevin Studer is the campus visit coordinator in the Office of Admission.

Studer is well-known around Lynn’s campus. As an undergraduate student, he involved himself in Lynn life as a resident assistant, student ambassador and editor-in-chief of iPulse. He graduated from Lynn in 2016, but his impact around campus certainly did not stop.

Working with the Office of Admission, Studer considers his job the best of both worlds. With a bachelor’s degree in multimedia journalism and a master’s degree in communication and media, Studer utilizes his communication skills throughout his daily work obligations.

“I use the skills I learned as a communications student and journalism major, but I also use my student life skills as well,” said Studer.

While studying abroad in Ireland, Studer worked for the Student Life department. Upon returning to Lynn, Studer clearly understood how much he loved working with students.

“I realized that working with students was really my passion. While I still loved writing, I knew I wanted to work alongside Admission,” he said.

As the campus visit coordinator, Studer oversees all the daily visits on campus. He is responsible for coordinating tours, lunches and admission counselor meetings for prospective students. Studer works to ensure the campus visit experience at Lynn is memorable and unique to each individual.

He feels the most rewarding part of his job is working with the many student admission ambassadors. Studer supervises a team of roughly 75 student ambassadors, all of whom he considers his children.

“Being able to empower student ambassadors to make decisions, help them navigate where they want to go in life and assist in their development is my favorite thing to do,” he said.
