Today, Lynn will host its annual Celebration of the Arts, which includes its Celebration Gallery located in the Salon of the Keith C. and Elaine Johnson Wold Performing Arts Center.

Celebration of the Arts will kick off its festivities opening the Celebration Gallery and Celebration Unplugged to the awaiting spectators.

The Gallery hosts the collection of works that the graduating Digital Art and Design students have compiled over their years as artist sand students at Lynn.

“As a senior, I got a lot of enjoyment out of actually picking the pieces I was going to display,” said Esther Mendoza, alumni. “It gave me a chance to grow personally and as an artist for one of the last times at Lynn.”

The experience of showing in the Celebration Gallery will stay with the students as they share their stories through art, getting feedback and compliments for all their work. It is also one of the last times that these students will stand among their peers and share their progress with the rest of the Lynn community as well as the outside public.

“It’s amazing to see the works that other students have done,” said Olivia Schrader, sophomore. “I think it’s a great way to connect with the students from a different major and see all their progress in their art; it makes me think of my progress.”

The Celebration Gallery is also open for artists of the Lynn community to submit work ranging from photography, paintings, sculptures and written word. Students and faculty alike are given the opportunity to showcase their work in the gallery beginning at 5:30 p.m. which will run till the start of the main stage show.
