As Lynn progresses with technological achievements, students walking to class are often accompanied with a pair of headphones and a favorite song.

Though plugging in is a common occurrence on campus, a student’s choice of song may take some by surprise.

“I’m listening to ‘Teach me How to Dougie,’ because I want to be more hip with the American culture,” said Aisling McEntegart, sophomore.

With Lynn being such an international university, the variety of go-to-tunes varies tremendously depending on the culture of each student.

“You just caught me at the worst possible time,” said Brooke Rudisill, junior. “I am listening to ‘No Scrubs’ [by TLC] because I have a throwback playlist on my Spotify.”

The walk to and from class is filled with students wearing headphones with technology in their hands. Some listen to music, as others surprisingly were only blocking out noise.

“I typically keep my headphones in when in a rush just to make it looks like I am actually listening to something when I’m not,” Meaghan Boutwell, graduate student.

“I’m listening to nothing,” said Jaci Tempkins, junior. “Because I like to block out the sounds as I’m doing my homework at the library.”

While some students are international and enjoy American music, or others are simply blocking out noise, some still enjoy Disney tunes.

“I am actually listening to ‘I Won’t Say (I’m in Love)’ from the Disney movie ‘Hercules,’” said Kevin Studer, senior. “I have a Disney playlist that I love listening to. It keeps me motivated.”

One would be surprised to find out what someone is listening to.

Some students perfer not to listen to music or block out noise but choose to watching videos instead.

“I was watching a Lebron James video,” said Muart Denise, freshman.

Besides watching LeBron James videos, others listen to their Spotify or Pandora.

“I’m listening to Today’s Top 40 hits,” said Ross Dubow, junior.

So never judge and assume what a person is listening to because one would be surprised to find out what someone is listening to. technology allows students to do much more than just listening to music.
