Getting An Education In Any Location

No matter where students want to travel, or what they want to study, the Center for Learning Abroad has all Fighting Knights covered.

The Center for Learning Abroad, otherwise known as the CLA, is one of the most well-known student programs at the university.

Not only is the Center for Learning Abroad continuously growing, it is also one of the most rewarding programs for students to join. Since the CLA launched in 2012, the program has grown and improved rapidly.

“The best part of my experience with the study abroad program was definitely having the opportunity to make lifelong friendships with people from around the world,” said Thomas Wagner, junior. “It was also really cool getting to experience a variety of different cultures, first-hand.”

Wagner traveled to Australia this past fall as an undergraduate student to complete his degree in Investment Management. Wagner said his trip across the world was an incredible experience and that he would recommend everyone study abroad.

“I had some of the best times of my life in Australia,” said Wagner. “I have so many good memories from this past semester abroad.”

The Center for Learning Abroad provides over 50 study abroad programs for students in regions like Italy, Australia, China, Spain, Ireland, South Africa and Argentina, just to name a few.

This program allows students to experience various cultures, travel the world, network internationally, learn a new language and most importantly, have a blast earning credits.

“The best part of my experience in Spain had to be the fact that I met so many people through this program, from Lynn, other programs in the U.S., as well as the native Spaniards,” said Jacob VanLeenen, senior. “I have met some very interesting people and have learned a lot about myself along the way. It’s also a lot of fun.”

VanLeenen spent this past fall semester in Spain, finishing up his undergraduate degree.

Whether students are looking for a short-trip abroad or a full year, the CLA program makes it possible for students to earn college credits from almost anywhere throughout the world. The price of a semester at Lynn is equivalent to a semester abroad, however, there are several scholarships and financial aid opportunities available to help cover the costs of embarking on this journey.

“The best part of my study abroad experience in Australia was traveling to places I never imagined I would visit, as well as all of the people that I met throughout my journey,” said Alex Rogoff, junior. “I made many lifelong friends through the process.”

“I had class Tuesday, Wednesday and every other Friday, so I would have five day weekends every other week,” continued Rogoff. “Classes did not take up the full day so I was able to get a lot of sight-seeing, travel and fun in as well. This experience was amazing, I wish I could relive it.”
