A New Location for New Students Looking Deeper Into the Campus Fitness Center

By Delaney Gould, Staff Writer

New Lynn students have been introduced to the fitness center this semester following the reopening of many locations on campus since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

For the past year, the fitness center remained closed in order to provide students with COVID-19 resources and testing on campus. Following the efforts to return to a more normal atmosphere at Lynn, the fitness center has been returned to its normal fully functional status.

Some incoming and returning students this year are still unfamiliar with this location on campus. Most underclassmen are unaware of the perks and equipment available at the fitness center, which is located on the first floor of the Lynn Residence Hall.

“I recommend the campus gym to freshmen and sophomores as it is free and they will save money by not going other places,” said Caleb Wells, a student worker at the fitness center. “The campus gym has everything you need to work out.”

The fitness center is a fully operational gym on campus, complete with free weights, machines, squat racks and much more. The location is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Monday-Friday, and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends.

Checking into the fitness center only requires a student ID number.

“The check-in at the gym is a super simple process. You…go to the front desk, where one of the student workers will be happy to assist you, present your student ID and they will happily scan you in,” said Wells.

Any student at Lynn is welcome to utilize the fitness center, whether they live on or off campus.

“The campus gym is a friendly environment consisting of people from all experience levels,” said Wells. “It is a good gym for any approach you are wanting to take.”
